MetriNote – Google Announces Generative AI Developments

March 14, 2023 – Google has announced new ways to incorporate generative AI into its products to enable developers, businesses, and governments to build new applications. Google Cloud has added generative AI support in Vertex AI, its machine learning (ML) platform for training and deploying ML models and AI apps. With this support, developers and others get access to foundation models from Google and others, allowing them to build and customize on top of these models using the same platform they use for ML work. Developers can access APIs to address specific use cases (content generation, chat, summarization, classification, etc.) with support for text, image, video, audio, and more. Additionally, Google now offers Generative AI App Builder, which lets developers quickly ship the new capabilities (bots, chat interfaces, custom search engines, digital assistants, etc.). They can use out-of-the-box templates to jumpstart their app creations.
