Author: Beth Schultz, VP of Research and Principal Analyst What's the news? October 24, 2024 – At its “Make with Notion” conference, Notion introduced a variety of new capabilities for its connected workspace app for collaborative work management. On the app side, the update includes Notion Mail, an AI-powered re-imagining of age-old email, allowing users to customize their inboxes to workflows. Notion Mail is available for early access. For pages, Notion has added two new building blocks: forms and layouts. Forms provides the ability to build forms natively within Notion, while layouts allow users to customize page layouts by type of content. For automation, Notion now offers the ability to trigger email sends, via Gmail, for project status or other database changes, and the ability to use formulas in databases and buttons that will complete next steps based on different actions. For its Notion AI assistant, Notion is adding new connectors for syncing with external tools and will offer the ability to search and create within databases. Lastly, Notion has launched Marketplace, a new home for templates.
