June 12, 2023 – Salesforce has expanded its generative AI offerings with the introduction of AI Cloud, a suite of capabilities intended to provide secure, real-time generative experiences across its CRM-related applications and workflows. AI Cloud will integrate with Data Cloud, Einstein, Flow, MuleSoft, Tableau, and other Salesforce technologies, and will include the new Einstein GPT Trust Layer for enabling companies to begin using generative AI in accordance with their security and compliance requirements. Via the trust layer, Salesforce prevents large language models (LLMs) from retaining sensitive customer data. Customers will be able to use Salesforce-trained LLMs; LLMs from third parties such as Anthropic, AWS, Cohere, and others; or LLMs they’ve trained on their own.

The AI Cloud Starter pack will cost $360,000 annually; this includes building blocks for Data Cloud, MuleSoft automation, Einstein, Tableau Analytics, Slack, and CRM, plus a free AI-readiness assessment from Salesforce Professional Services. General availability of app-specific generative AI features begins this month, with Einstein GPT Trust Layer, Service GPT, Apex GPT. General availability for other apps will follow from July 2023 through February 2024.
