MetriNote – Google Renames, Expands Workspace AI

Feb. 21, 2024 – Google has renamed its former Duet AI generative AI virtual assistant for Workspace to Gemini for Workspace, with expanded capabilities and pricing tiers. Google will build Gemini into its Workspace apps, including Mail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Chat. Google is now offering Gemini for Workspace at two pricing tiers: Enterprise, for $30 per user, per month; and Business, for $20 per user, per month (both require a one-year commitment). Business license users are limited to 1,000 actions per user, per month. In addition to making Gemini for Workspace capabilities available within Google apps, Google is delivering a stand-alone chat interface, allowing users to query data, gain insights, and create content leveraging stored within their Workspace accounts.
