Metrigy releases Workplace Collaboration 2025 & 4Q25 Market Shares
March 19, 2026 – Metrigy has published its Workplace Collaboration MetriCast 2025 and 4Q25 market shares and updated forecasts. The categories include enterprise session border controllers (eSBCs), IP desk phones, on-premises PBX, SIP trunking, and UC as a service (UCaaS). Highlights include:
- The UCaaS market grew 6.1% to $23.0 billion in 2025. Metrigy has forecast 6% revenue growth in 2026, led by North America.
- Microsoft was the UCaaS global market share leader with 22% of UCaaS seats in CY25, followed by Cisco, Zoom, and RingCentral.
- The on-premises PBX & UC market decreased 6% in CY25, to $1.8 billion in global revenue, with an 8.7% decrease forecast for 2026.
- Cisco leads the on-premises PBX & UC market with 45.8% global revenue market share in CY25. Other leading vendors are Avaya, Mitel, and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.
- The eSBC market decreased 7% in CY25, to $437.1 million in global revenue, and is forecast to remain flat with a 6.5% decrease in 2026.
- Oracle is the eSBC market leader with 19.9% global revenue market share in CY25. Other leading vendors are AudioCodes, Cisco, and Ribbon Communications.
- The IP desk phones market decreased 4% in CY25, to $782.9 million in global revenue; an additional 17.6% decrease is forecasted for 2026.
- The SIP trunking market grew 8.7% in CY25, to $13.5 billion in global revenue; an additional 8% growth is forecasted for 2026.
“Voice and collaboration tools remain important to businesses and with over half of users now on a UCaaS platform, overall revenue growth for the market has slowed. UCaaS is now a commodity market with little differentiation on core service capabilities. There are still a number of smaller providers but the Big 4—Microsoft, Cisco, Zoom, RingCentral—comprise 53% of the total market,” says Diane Myers, Metrigy senior research director.
