Published on: May 30, 2023
May, 2023 – Crestron and Logitech have separately introduced new devices designed to make it easier for employees to reserve and use shared desks, and for IT to manage them. Creston’s Desk Q and Desk Touch are desktop or mountable devices to allow employees to see space availability and reserve a desk, using a QR code on the Desk Q or via touch screen on the Desk Touch. Both devices support space reservation platforms from Appspace, Calven, and Tango. The Desk Touch will ship in July and the Desk Q will ship in Q4-2023. The Desk Q will retail for $150 and the Desk Touch for $350, both including options for wall mounting or a desktop stand.
Logitech’s announcement comes in the form of its new Logi Dock Flex, a desktop device designed to allow space reservation as well as serve as a dock for connecting various accessories, including monitor, mouse, keyboard, and headset to a user’s computer. The Dock Flex includes an 8-inch touch screen and will support reservation applications from both Microsoft and Zoom, as well as Logitech’s own announced scheduling application. The Dock Flex will sell for $699 when it becomes available in the fall of 2023.
