MetriNote – Google and HP Take a Step Forward with Starline

May 13, 2024 – Google and HP have announced plans to commercialize their joint Starline project to improve virtual video engagement. Originally announced in 2021, the goal of Starline is to create virtual video experiences that make participants feel as if they are in the same room as one another. Google expects to deliver commercial services in 2025 and will enable Starline capabilities to work within video meeting apps including Google Meet and Zoom.
