Author: Beth Schultz, Vice President of Research and Principal Analyst March 7, 2023 - Salesforce has added generative AI to its CRM platform, this week releasing Einstein GPT in closed pilot. For Einstein GPT, which is the next generation of the company’s Einstein predictive AI technology, Salesforce combines its proprietary AI models with partners’ large language models, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and real-time customer data from the Salesforce Data Cloud. With Einstein GPT, customers can use natural-language prompts on their CRM data for on-the-fly creation of AI-generated content for sales, service, marketing, commerce, and IT interactions. Additional announcements around generative AI include the introduction of a ChatGPT app that will allow Slack users to tap into the OpenAI technology for quickly produced conversation summaries, research tools, and writing help, as well as a developer-oriented version of Einstein GPT for code generation and guidance. And, to support the startup ecosystem around generative AI, Salesforce Ventures has announced a $250 million Generative AI Fund.
