MetriNote – Salesforce to Beef Up Slack with Einstein GPT, AI Workflow Builder

May 4, 2023 – Salesforce has announced a generative AI capability for Slack that allows sales, service, marketing, and other users to tap CRM data, using natural-language prompts, for real-time content creation such as case summaries and prospect messaging. This new capability brings together the previously announced Slack ChatGPT app and Einstein GPT for CRM (read related MetriNotes here and here), and is one three prongs in Salesforce’s newly introduced Slack GPT strategy for bringing conversational AI to the team collaboration application. Besides the native generative AI integration within Slack and the ability to query customer data via Einstein GPT, the strategy is parlaying the capabilities of its recently introduced next-generation, AI-ready Slack platform to allow developers to integrate and automate workflows within Slack using ChatGPT or any other large language model of their choice. The Slack ChatGPT app is in beta, the Slack GPT workflow builder will be available this summer, and the native AI capabilities and Einstein GPT app for Slack are in development.
