MetriNote – Smartsheet Adds New Workspace Features, Amazon Q Connector
Published on: October 23, 2024
- Collections – Allows work managers to provide curated, role-based access to a subset of workspace content, rather than having to share an entire workspace. Collections can comprise any Smartsheet content, and this content can live in multiple collections (unlike with folder-level sharing), providing a single source of truth. Collections are available to Enterprise customers on the user subscription model introduced in June.
- File library – Centralizes files alongside projects, for ease of access and contextual relevance, and leverages asynchronous collaboration along with built-in annotation and conversation features for streamlined content review. Early Adopters have access today; availability for all customers on the new subscription model will follow later this month.
- Work visualizations – Board view, introduced earlier this year, is now generally available. In addition, Table view running on the next-generation Sheet Platform, for accelerated formula calculations and load times, is now available to Early Adopters.
- Integrated resource management – Capacity planning and advanced reporting are now native to the platform.
- Amazon Q for Business connector –With this connector to AWS’s generative AI assistant, customers will be able to conduct unified searches that surface information from across Smartsheet and other Amazon Q-connected sources, such as Salesforce and Slack. This capability, available in public preview, adds to Smartsheet’s existing AI tools, now available for all customers to try out through December.
