Executives provided an overview of where Spectrum Enterprise sits today in terms of business and priorities and its competitive positioning. They did not have any new product or service announcements.For background, Spectrum Enterprise is part of Charter Communications, with responsibility for mid-market and strategic enterprises (25 employees and above under Spectrum’s segmentation), federal, carrier wholesale, and specific verticals regardless of size (healthcare, hospitality, education, and local/state government). Other Charter Communications business units are Spectrum Residential, Spectrum Business (SMBs), Spectrum Reach (advertising), and Spectrum Networks (24x7 news and sports TV networks). Charter Communications has $20 billion in annual EBITA, which supports investment, of which a significant share goes toward Spectrum Enterprise. The investment in Spectrum Enterprise is paying off as the business continues to grow.Spectrum Enterprise’s mission is to be the national service provider of choice for enterprises by meeting all their networking needs. Connectivity is Spectrum Enterprise’s core product, and its sweet spot is data and Internet services. Managed services give it a competitive advantage. They have a number of solid market initiatives, including lighting up more fiber. Broadcast video plays to their heritage as a cable operator, particularly within verticals like healthcare and hospitality. Voice and UC services is Spectrum Enterprise’s smallest area, but it is growing fast.
