MetriNote – Vonage Targets Fraud with Network APIs

What's the news?
November 17, 2025 – Vonage, a subsidiary of Ericsson, has announced the launch of fraud prevention Network APIs in the United States, extending availability beyond previously launched markets in Western Europe. The APIs include Silent Authentication and SIM Swap. Silent Authentication allows developers to authenticate customers without the need for SMS messages, eliminating risk of interception. SIM Swap identifies changes in a customer’s SIM card to mark a person for possible additional authentication. In their press release, Vonage notes that each of these APIs provide demonstrable improvements in authentication speed and fraud detection.
