Oct. 23, 2023 – Ooma announced it has acquired communications service provider 2600Hz for $33 million in cash. 2600Hz brings to Ooma its open-source KAZOO platform, which resellers and service providers use to white-label UC-as-a-Service (UCaaS), Contact Center-as-a-Service (CCaaS), and Communications Platform-as-a-Service (CPaaS) offerings to SMBs and large enterprises. Ooma itself has used KAZOO for the past 10 years to provide UC services, and the acquisition gives it ownership of the platform while expanding its capabilities with CCaaS and CPaaS, as well as AI. The acquisition also nets Ooma critical engineering and development expertise from 2600Hz.
