Microsoft Teams makes it easier for teams to meet via video and exchange information virtually. But as companies bring employees back to the office, either full or part time, they must take a proactive approach to deploying Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) systems to ensure high performance, minimize costs, and enable flexibility. The ideal approach focuses on ensuring that each type of meeting room has the right system—one that enables unified provisioning and performance management of both Teams Phone System and Teams Room devices, and that provides appropriate security controls. Microsoft Teams Room systems also should let users easily join meetings hosted on competing platforms, such as Webex and Zoom.
Therefore, IT leaders should:
- Deploy MTR-certified solutions to ensure high-quality user experience, minimal cost, and optimal usability
- Develop an inventory of room types and align MTR device deployments with specific room requirements
- Evaluate competing MTR solutions based on breadth of solution, including the ability to manage audio and video endpoints via a single provisioning and management platform
