MetriNote – Five9 Analyst & Influencer Summit 2023

Led by CEO Mike Burkland, Five9 executives outlined the company’s strategic mission, vision, and plans for its path forward at a summit for analysts and influencers held May 8-9 in Porto, Portugal, where the contact center-as-a-service (CCaaS) provider recently opened an office for developers and others. This was Burkland’s first in-person meeting with analysts and influencers since he rejoined as Five9’s CEO in November 2022, following the resignation of his predecessor, Rowan Trollope, who took a position outside the communications industry. Burkland previously held the CEO reins from 2008 to 2017, when he took his leave for health reasons. In Porto, Burkland reported that he is in good health, and is ready to take Five9 into a “joyful” future. (“Five9 Joy” was one theme of the conference.) Additionally, in a sign of Five9’s commitment to growing its presence in Europe and beyond, the event dovetailed with Five9’s CX Summit for EMEA customers and partners.
