July 18, 2023 – Microsoft has introduced a work version of Bing Chat, its generative AI tool for web search announced earlier this year. The new Bing Chat Enterprise, available in preview, adds commercial data protection to address enterprise concerns about data security and privacy. That means chat data isn’t saved, Microsoft has no access or visibility to it (it’s encrypted in transit), and it’s not used for model training. As is the case for Bing Chat, Bing Chat Enterprise delivers conversational answers to questions posed via natural language prompts. Answers, which are grounded in web data, include citations for verification and, if applicable, graphs, charts, images, and other visual results. Bing Chat Enterprise comes with Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium licenses. Users can access the tool using their work account from Bing.com/chat and the Microsoft Edge sidebar today, and from the Windows Copilot generative AI interface in the future. A stand-alone offering, pricing at $5 per user monthly, will follow at an unspecified time.
